A New Step Forward: Associate Trainee Silja Savisalo Joins Kalliolaw with Determination and Drive to Grow

Kalliolaw recently welcomed a new Associate Trainee Silja Savisalo to the team. She began her traineeship the Friday after May Day – a quiet day to start what promises to be a meaningful and engaging experience. Despite the calm atmosphere, she stepped into her role with a clear sense of purpose and enthusiasm for the months ahead.

Currently in her fourth year of law studies at the University of Helsinki, Silja was drawn to the legal field by its demand for precision, diligence, and continuous learning – qualities that align closely with her personality and work ethic. Law offered her the perfect platform to apply analytical thinking and seek out challenges that push her forward.

“I applied to Kalliolaw, because I believe I can utilise my skills within a variety of different cases”

Kalliolaw stood out as a place where she could make full use of her skills within a variety of different practice areas. The trainees programme offers a hands-on opportunity to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world legal work, while contributing meaningfully to ongoing client projects.

Silja is particularly eager to deepen her understanding of corporate law but is also motivated to broaden her legal knowledge in areas not yet fully covered in her studies. One of her key goals is to sharpen her critical thinking and track her own professional growth during the programme. Mistakes are part of learning, she notes – what matters most is learning from them and not repeating them.

“Work-Life balance has stood out”

Her first impressions of Kalliolaw have been positive. The office culture strikes a balance between professionalism and ease, and work-life balance seems to be more than just a phrase. The welcoming environment has helped her integrate quickly, and she feels confident that Kalliolaw will soon feel like a natural and secure place to develop as a legal professional.

For Silja, this traineeship is about building confidence, gaining insight into her own strengths and growth areas, and laying the groundwork for a meaningful legal career.

We are delighted to have her on board – welcome to Kalliolaw!
