On the Path to a Legal Career – Meet a Future Talent

For many, law is more than just a profession—it’s a calling. This is certainly true for our trainee, Siiri Seva, whose passion for legal studies ignited at a remarkably young age. We sat down with her to learn about her background, motivation, and what she hopes to gain from her trainee experience.

A Passion for Law Sparked Early

Siiri’s interest in law began back in elementary school and has since shaped her career choices with clear determination. “My interest in law started when I was told that lawyers are often skilled debaters—and debating is something I’ve always felt confident in,” she explains. Her talent for language and analytical thinking has been a constant throughout her studies, making law a natural fit.

Why Kalliolaw?

Siiri chose to apply to us because she’s particularly drawn to corporate law and intellectual property rights. She had heard great reviews about our firm from fellow students and was eager to join a workplace with a strong reputation. “Corporate law and especially IPR really interest me. Plus, I’ve heard only great things about the firm from my peers.”

She’s also keen to explore environmental law, a field in which our firm has a strong presence. Her goal is to develop deep expertise in a specific area of law and become a recognized specialist.
I want to build expertise in a particular legal field and become an expert in that area.”

Gaining Practical Skills and Growing Professionally

During her trainee period, Siiri hopes to gain hands-on experience and a clearer understanding of how legal theory applies in real-world situations. “I’m looking forward to learning how law works in practice and how the concepts from textbooks translate to everyday cases.” She’s especially wishes to focus on improving her legal reading skills and information gathering.

Her previous role as an Office Support Trainee has already given her a solid foundation to take on more challenging legal tasks and better understand the practical side of the profession.

Looking ahead, Siiri has a clear vision for her future: “In five years, I hope to have a permanent position as a lawyer.”

Values and Workplace Culture as a Compass

For Siiri, working in an open and respectful environment is essential—a place that values employee well-being and offers flexible working arrangements, such as remote work.

She describes herself as a proactive team player who takes responsibility and engages actively but above all is eager to learn from more experienced colleagues and grow within the community.

The beginning of her trainee journey is fueled by excitement about learning new things, meeting new people, and challenging herself. “I’m genuinely excited about learning, pushing myself, and meeting new colleagues. It’s also a great opportunity to build a professional network in the field.”

We warmly welcome Siiri to our team. Together, we will support her growth and development as she progresses toward becoming a legal expert.
