The government proposal for implementing the Whistleblower Directive has finally been given in September 2022. Next the proposal will be submitted for the parliamentary proceedings. An internal reporting channel should be introduced within three months after the legislation has entered into force. As expected, the proposal includes a transition period until 17 December 2023 for such private sector companies which regularly have a maximum of 249 employees. Wellbeing services counties have to introduce an internal reporting channel starting from 1 January 2023.
