The government proposal for implementing the Whistleblower Directive has finally been given in September 2022.

The European Commission’s updated standard contractual clauses (SCCs) on the transfer of personal data to third countries came into force on June 2021. The transition period, which has been set for the adoption of the updated SCCs, ends 27 December 2022.

The Government has decided to introduce of a separate mining tax for Finnish mines.

The filing of the transfer tax has changed in November 2019. When a real estate, shares in a housing company or other shares are bought, transfer tax must be paid. The changes concern the procedure for the filing and payment of the transfer tax. The changes apply to purchases that have been made on 1 November 2019 or later.

Beneficial owners must be listed to the Finnish Trade Register at the latest on 1 July 2020. If the beneficial owners or their details change, the details must be updated in company’s internal list of the beneficial owners as well as with the Trade Register.
